Attention all HEAT members!!! Do you need some extra inspiration to get out and train this winter? Well consider joining the club in participation in this offseason challenge. Click here for all the rules and awards: National Challenge Competition
Ok Gang, Registration has started, so start sending me you info. Who is in? We finished in the top 10 overall for the first time last winter. Let's see if we can improve upon that this year. How about shooting for moving up from 3rd place in Division II which we have done tow straight years. In addition to this competion being a motivator for winter training, it is also a numbers game; the more members we have reporting, the better we will do in the standings. Last year we had about 50 members reporting; can we get to the roster liimit of 75 this season? How about it? Send me your info (USAT #, name and age as of 12/1/10). For those of you new to the club, come on and join us. For those who haven't participated in the past couple of years, it is time to help out the club. Please try and send the info with your personal email if you cannot or do not check your work email during the holidays. Reminders are usually sent out the last week of each month to get all mileage updated by the end of the month.
Rule Changes for this year:
What do you need to do to compete?
- If you don't have a computer/odometer for spin class/indoor trainers we are granted 15 miles per hour of spinning.
- Elliptical miles are worth 1/3 of true run miles (i.e. if you did 6 miles on the elliptical then enter 2 miles.)
- Elliptical miles are not weighted like run miles.
- Swim benches or rowing machines do not count for swim miles.
- Each athlete is subject to an audit at any point during the competition. You must be able to verify your mileage via GPS, computer, coach, training partner, club administrator, and/or legal guardian. Athlete will be disqualified if proof of mileage cannot be given.
This year is the swim and run miles will be weighted again as last year....10 miles for every swim mile reported and 3 miles for every run mile reported.
