OK. Really, is anyone interested in a picnic? Early October is good. I can't host this year but I will bring some food wherever. And badminton. I can bring
some meat and watermelon.

I can provide the location (our house) and grill in Tolland on Oct. 11th (the day after the Hartford marathon). If that sounds good let me know and we can
start the planning.

Ray, in case you do not want to haul your badminton set so far (just up the street), Joe and I would be willing to host as well. Right down the road from the
Granby group rides. No kale, but definitely will be chocolate cherry pie for dessert.

Well the 11th sounds good to me , but where? It looks like Mike and Karen will have to work it out. (OMG, did you say chocolate cherry pie?!) Let' s firm
this up and we can start getting the word out. Thanks to both Mike and Karen and their families for volunteering.

Well I'm guessing Joe and Karen are closer to most HEAT members so I will defer. Karen, let me know if you change your mind.

Most everyone will be done with their season by then, I think. For those doing the Great River Ride that day, they can roll in after. |

What's wrong with kale?
I'll be there. With or without kale. With a Ken. |

Aubrey -- you may bring the Kale and the Ken. I'm just not keeping the leftovers.

I'm thinking a Mountain bike ride at Penwood beforehand would be in order. Anyone else up for
that?

Some folks (and school kids) have Monday off as well and, as luck would have it, there's no soccer games scheduled. Woohoo! Thanks for hosting Karen &
Joe! I was thinking of bringing a bag of Candy Corn... jk how about either italian pastry or a cheese cake for when the pie runs dry? I can bring something
else if it helps out too... ice, soda, etc. So about that mounatin bike ride, do you mind if a newbie joins - i have the bike but never ride it and since my
race season will be over, I can throw caution to the wind (to a degree). As an additioanl fyi... Giants are on at 1pm; Pats at 4pm; and its likely the Yanks
and Sox will be playing post season ball as well! (should i bring my wiffle ball & bat?)

All are welcome and encouraged to ride, Tom. There are milder options available up there. I can ride with you. Ray

Hey paisan-er-Tom--bring both those desserts--I'm not fussy. And about this Penwood thing -- should I be stocking up on bandages??
Erica -- will be great to see you --hopefully in 2 regular shoes |
