Before any discussions about GERMAN's take place here: IT WAS NOT MY FOULT!
I thought that what happen's in Ridgefield last week is happen once a year....live.
But here is Mystic:
I came out second after the swim, but already went out with the bike first.
After about 3k the first intersection with STOP signes...NO volunteer!
Then a medical car took over the lead on the bike course.
After about 6k the next intersection.
2 volunteers conducted the medical car to the left! After my request 2 other volunteers jumped on the road and conducted me to go straight down.
A official car stoped me after about 2k going down the hill and apologized. (I have enough from apologizing!)
He felt sorry to show me the wrong way! ( I also have enough now from feeling sorry!)
No,no, wait, that's not everuthing! It comes more worth!
I turned around and tried everything to get up front as far as I could.
I think after about 18k i was in the lead again (without knowing).
Yust another intersection.... Down hill...
I notice the volunteer when i passed the intersection with about 30mph! He was sitting in the grass helping a women to fix here bike! Thank you...!
It took enough time for turning around a second time so that 4 other guy's alrady turned into that street ahead of me.
I placed 4th with a frustrating run! And here also ALL athletes missed a second back and out turn as shown on the course map!
Excuse me! I'm racing since 1989. Since them it was happen only ONCE that we were conducted in a wrong direction! ONCE !!
In Fairfield last week 60 people went the wrong way in a duathlon I was told!
There are wondeful courses here. Lake swimming,..nice hilly roads,... perfect heat (weather) conditions.. BUT!!??
I mean if this continues, i will loose my fun to race here... What for?
And congratulations to Gary! If I do not start to find the right way you will catch me soon..
