I had a very good race for me timewise. As others have stated I think the swim was deinitely shorter than last year's.
I took over 6 min off of my swim from last year. That run up the hill from the lake to T-1 was painful to say the least. I tried to run more and faster than last year and ended up taking 1 min off of my T-1 time from last year. The beginning of the bike was "interesting" for me. My plan was to go out hard at the beginning, see what happened on 44, and then push the pace on the last hills. The beginning sections saw my stomach revolt. It seemed like I'd vomit up any HEED I'd try to drink. I'm guessing the humidity had something to do with it. Once passed Walmart on 44 my stomach seemed to settle and I was able to keep down what I was trying to drink. I managed to pass alot of people on the bike and ended up right behind the lead woman going into T-2. I took just under a minute off of my time from last year. The run acrossed the grass to T-2 was also painful, legs refused to run. I was thinking that my run would suffer, but the legs came around heading out on run. I think I was 1 sec faster in T-2 than last year. Then out to the run...My mile times were slower than I had hoped, but my overall run time was about 7 minutes faster than last years. I was able to pace off of the lead woman nicely. There was no way I felt I could catch her, but was able to keep her in sight and then closed in on her near the end. Considering the humidity I was very happy with that. Overall I finished just under 15 minutes faster this year than last year, 17th overall and 5th in AG. 2:26:04 vs 2:40.59. My target finish time was 2:25/2:26 so I was very happy when I looked at the clock as I crossed the finish line.
Thanks to everyone out there cheering us on!
Wolfgang is truely an animal out there with his new course record, by 11 minutes (If I remember what was said at the awards correctly) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

did someone design a circular course that's all up hill? At least that's
the way it felt to me. After the race I was thinking about just sticking to the sprints, but now I'm looking for another (less hills though). Any
suggestions?
