Aerobars at the Beachside Boogie? I haven't been there in years, but times have changed I guess. Glad to see the good results from the HEAT team.
So.....any interest in a road trip up to ride the Firmman bike course?

The Boogie is always a fun time, a great way to start the season. I started out pretty strong (for me anyway) with a 12:01 (9th) and knew I'd get passed by
a lot of those mountain bikers. I too had never seen (or even thought of) aero bars/helmets on mountain bikes. Weird. Little did I know I'd be getting
passed by a LOT of them - my rear tire went down to maybe a third or a quarter of its proper size. It was still fun and everything, but man the ride was like
riding in concrete. Dave...

Ive never done a duathlon before and it HURT! Id much rather start a race with a swim than an all out effort on the run after getting there 15 mins before the
race and not being properly prepared! I had one of my best runs ever to start though going 12:12 and hopping onto the bike and went hard the whole way and saw
alot of people with aerobars and aero helmets (whats up with that?). I finished the bike in 35 mins and was in 5th place running pretty good until I was hit
hard by stomach issues...

Tough conditions for this race! Cold and windy meant too many layers at the start. I ran in HEAT shorts but overheated with a long top and bike jersey. I was
with Dave off the bike and stayed close till he got thawed about a half mile in. I went slower while he went faster and he finished very strong. Doug had a
great run, but had a slow leak and was riding on a soft pillow by the end of the bike. It's tough enough with fat tires and wind, but a soft tire just
killed him. This is always a...

This was my first time doing this race. The weather report was for temps in the 40's so I was unsure of how to dress. I wore my HEAT shorts but I'm
glad I decided to bring along my tights because when I got to Hammonassett is was windy. I ended up
putting my tights on under my shorts. I was also not sure how my run splits would be since I hardly ever do duathlons. My first run went well, I felt good
while not going all out...
