Century Ride August 1/2

I've never done a Century and have a free weekend coming up the beginning of August. (First free weekend in 5 years!) I'd love to get one in as part of my Timberman Training. Is anyone planning on a ride that weekend that I could join... Or is anyone interested in joining me. My training this summer has been solo and for my longer rides (40 - 50 miles) I've been average 16 - 18 depending on the day and if it is a Hilly course or...

Long(ish) ride Saturday (final LP tune up)

I am planning on an 75 mile ride on Saturday if anyone is interested. If interested we can start at Granby Cycle and ride with the group 7 am shop ride until we get up to Route 20, then its down to Riverton, a loop around People's Forest and back up 179 (a route I believe that Karen and Joe favor). Hopefully we can beat the rain. Pace will be controlled.

Hi all, Chris and I are doing a long(er) ride this Friday 6/26 at 1pm.

We are going to meet in Unionville. There is a parking lot on Rt.4 for the bike/run path. If you're driving west, you'd go past the center of Unionville staying on Rt.4 and it's up on the right after 1 or 2 lights. If you get to where you can turn left to stay on Rt.4 going into Burlington, you've gone too far.

So I'll start by admitting I'm not the most organized person. I was organized enough to sign up for Timberman before registration closed, however, I didn't reserve a hotel at the same time (despite proddings from my husband). So when I looked for a hotel recently (I don't camp anymore) all the decent hotels in the local area were booked. So I booked a hotel in Concord, NH. I figured I'd rather stay at a known hotel chain and drive a few more miles - than stay at some...

long ride Saturday

Anyone up for a long ride on Saturday? Rather than miles I'm looking to get hours in. 5 1/2 hours at a medium pace. Morty, Chris and I rode 5hrs last week followed by a 1hr run. It was a blast....an UPHILL blast. I don't have a time picked out yet, just brainstorming.

Oh and FYI Morty: A 5 hour ride is 5 hours...NO MATTER HOW FAST WE PEDAL IT... so why was it an all out sprint all day?

Patriotman Pre-ride/Pre-swim

I'm planning on heading up this Sunday 6/14 to pre-ride the bike course and get in an open water swim. I talked to the race director and there's a boat launch north of the race start that we can swim from. Any takers?

Granby Rides - Saturdays - 7 AM

For those interested in joining up with a good group of cyclists, a lot of us "triathletes" have been riding with the "Valley Boys" for the last few years.

We now leave from the Granby Bike Shop (next to Stop & Shop) in Granby (off of Rt 10). The group has grown to over 25 riders of mixed ability. The normal loop is about 35-40 miles with groups spliting up...

Are you like me? Do you crave adventure? Do you love a long bike ride? Do you enjoy Provincetown, Mass?

If the answers are 'yes,' then I have just the adventure for you and am looking for 1 or maybe 2 others who might join in a fun weekend.

I am planning on doing a Boston to P-town ride called 'Outriders' and wondered if anyone else wanted to go. I did it a couple years ago and had a fun time. More information on the ride is here:

Rev3 Pre-Ride - 5/23 or 5/24 - starting from Litchfield

I'm going to do a pre-ride of the Rev3 race course next weekend and wondering if anyone wants to join. I'm going to start in Litchfield, so I don't have to drive all the way to Middlebury (live in Canton). I expect my pace will be 15-17 mph (haven't ridden the course before). I'm open to doing it on Sat or Sun and can be flexible with start time. If interested, just post and we can coordinate schedules.

Wednesday Granby Bike Shop Ride

I went out with the group for the first time last night, and was impressed with the large turnout. There are a wide range of abilities within the group so it should be easy to find someone of similar pace to ride with. The ride kicks off at 6:15pm. From what I gathered Wednesdays route is normally hills and Mondays rides are flat.
